The Dolphins Fly were formed in Cornwall in 2000 by brothers Dave and Mart Marney.They found themselves taken to London in the following year after winning a competition in a National Magazine (Melody Maker), to record and album. After 18 months of living the Dream (or not, as they foolishly signed a really shitty deal in the excitement), the brother’s returned home alone to hone their talents as songwriters and play the southwest circuit acoustically.

After penning more than 50 new songs and building up an army of followers from the acoustic sessions it was time to reform the band and at the start of 2008 bass player Nick Gunn and drummer Billy Bowen became fellow Dolphins. From the first rehearsal the music breathed new life with the band quickly meshing together perfectly with this gifted rhythm section.

Together with the warm harmonies, layered guitars, infectious grooves and soaring tunes we think you’ll enjoy seeing us as much as we like performing them to you and the bands new album ‘Songs from the Apple Tree’ has received critical acclaim in the music press.
