Our first gig for ages is this Friday 28th at the Watering Hole, Perranporth. We’ve got a new set to try out and a few old friends coming so pretty excited..always means a bad one coming…will be reporting on ups and downs of the night and getting down to recording and putting up on line the ones that go well,,supporting the WOBT.
We’re not gigging for a while as mid summer is when we earn the pennies teaching people to surf. We’re getting a nice sounding new set together though and we’ll let you know when things music start moving again..in fact if anyone knows any good agents or manangers get in touch as we’re looking for more gigs and festival appearances. Keep believing in the Wizards of beautiful truth.
As always a fantastic time and great to be with the Dolphins we don’t get to see much anymore..the worry for me was i could feel it changing..a few new rules..we need them now its got so big but its got to be about freedom..its still the best place in the world but they’ve got a job on to keep the magic.We’ve come back home inspired and ready to make some special music..will be putting on the site soonish..the best gig i saw?…had to be Damien Rice in the accoustic tent..truly breathtaking..enjoyed the Who , the Killers and a cool gospel choir..came back with the question..does Glastonbury teach you anything or just make you look properly at what you already know?…either way its the best..Support the Wizards of Beautiful Truth.
We’re all off to Glastonbury tomorrow..leaving the warm safety of home for a wet field in Somerset..can’t wait..hopefully plenty of fun to tell you about when we get back..leaving Cathy and Nancy in the dry..first time i’ve left my girls and its a bit sad..quietly confident that i’ll find the strength to overcome these emotions..let the festival decide..music and friends.
Nearly all the Dolphin recordings you’ll hear for a while were recorded while the band all shared a house in a far off land….Essex. Our great buddies Steve O and Seppies who played guitar and drums are still up in far off lands and though they’re not physically playing with us anymore the sound of the Dolphins echoes with the times we shared and their feel for the songs…they’ll always be Dolphins…unless ofcourse we get famous and they want some cash…forget it boys..instant memory loss and bare faced denial.

The music means more these days..my wife gave birth to our first baby 7 weeks ago today and the songs we wrote are starting to make sense..almost..I’m Dave and I’ll be showing you all pics of Nancy as soon as I can work out how to do it..I’ll be keeping you informed on the Sea…the songs..the gigs.. the highs and lows of singing to people that mostly don’t get it…All you bands and muso’s..get out there and support the Wizards of Beautiful Truth…
